Denver Broncos cornerback Champ Bailey is out for this Sunday's game against the New York Giants with a left foot injury.
Bailey also missed the season opener against the Baltimore Ravens. He has not practiced since he was injured in a preseason game against the Seattle Seahawks on Aug. 17.
Last week, Bailey said he felt like he was "very close" to returning. Friday, he jogged off the field after participating in the team stretch at the start of practice and worked with the team's strength coaches.
"No setback," Broncos coach John Fox said. "He's on schedule, he's making great progress and he's being watched over by our medical staff and he's getting closer."
Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie is expected to start again in place of Bailey.
