Troubled San Francisco 49ers defensive end Aldon Smith will not play Thursday night at St. Louis, according to Pro Football Talk.
A tweet from the team said team CEO Jed York made the decision. There was no reason given, but Smith was arrested Friday on suspicion of DUI and hadn't been disciplined by the team or the league.

San Jose police Sgt. Heather Randol told ESPN that marijuana was not found in Smith's car but unidentified prescription drugs were after Smith crashed his car into a tree. He was arrested after the accident at 7 a.m. Friday. He was not injured.
