San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan is hoping to reduce the workload of RB Christian McCaffrey during the upcoming season so that he can remain healthy and continue performing at a high level. In 2023, McCaffrey played a higher percentage of his team’s offensive snaps than any other NFL running back, including every offensive snap in three regular-season contests and all but 11 snaps in their three playoff games.
