The Indianapolis Colts are opening up to the possibility of signing WR Alec Pierce to a contract extension, according to ESPN.com’s Stephen Holder. According to multiple sources, the Colts had decided long ago not to re-sign Pierce after the 2025 season because it was not considered financially prudent. The team had drafted WR Adonai Mitchell in 2024 with the intention of having him eventually replace Pierce. However, Mitchell displayed inconsistency during his time in Indianapolis and was traded to the New York Jets earlier this month, while Pierce has.
