Updating an earlier report, Atlanta Falcons QB Kirk Cousins is expected to remain the backup for the Falcons this season, in the opinion of NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, who notes there’s no financial incentive to release Cousins, whose contract contained $100 million in guarantees. Cousins, who Rapoport noted would prefer to be released, did not report for the start of Atlanta’s organized team activities (OTAs) on Tuesday, May 27.
