University of Arizona OL Jonah Savaiinaea was a strong consideration for the New England Patriots with the 38th overall selection in the 2025 NFL Draft until the Miami Dolphins traded with the Las Vegas Raiders to get one pick ahead of the Patriots and select him. The Patriots ended up selecting Ohio State RB TreVeyon Henderson at No. 38.
‘According to multiple league sources, the player that they were discussing was Arizona guard/tackle Jonah Savaiinaea. He was the guy. And the Dolphins happened to, all of a sudden, jump in front of the Patriots sending a third-round pick to the Raiders. They jumped in front of the Patriots and took him,’ Greg Bedard of the Boston Sports Journal told the Patriots Press Pass podcast recently.
