Former USC WR Makai Lemon was almost selected in the 2026 NFL Draft by the Pittsburgh Steelers with the 15th overall selection in the first round, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette’s Gerry Dulac. The pick belonged to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the two sides were close to finalizing a deal which would have allowed the Steelers to move up from the 21st overall pick but the Buccaneers instead selected former Miami (FL) LB Rueben Bain Jr., whom they had not expected to fall to them. The Philadelphia Eagles eventually chose Lemon with the 20th pick after moving up and the Steelers selected former Arizona State OT Max Iheanachor with the following pick.
