San Francisco 49ers RB Christian McCaffrey (calf, Achilles) likely would have played in Week 1 against the New York Jets had it been a playoff game, according to comments made by head coach Kyle Shanahan on Tuesday, Sept. 10. Shanahan noted that McCaffrey is dealing with Achilles tendinitis in addition to the calf.
