San Francisco 49ers QB Mac Jones is getting ready to start Week 5 against the Los Angeles Rams Thursday, Oct. 2, in place of the injured QB Brock Purdy (toe). Jones apparently let it slip Tuesday, Sept. 30, that he will be the starter, whether intended or not. ‘I’ve been impressive with (the Rams defense),’ Jones said. ‘I can’t wait to go against them.’ Purdy aggravated his toe injury in Week 4 against the Jacksonville Jaguars, and apparently will not practice this week.
